J�tr•OH. . <br /> .. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII ����" ��• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 31° 15 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND <br /> RECREATION TO AWARD FUNDS TO KAILAPA COMMUNITY <br /> ASSOCIATION <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br /> County Code (2005 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of$25,000 <br /> to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br /> grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance <br /> or resolution; and <br /> WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than <br /> profit-making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax-exemption from the <br /> Internal Revenue Code; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kailapa Community Association, which qualifies as a <br /> nonprofit organization as defined above, is working to develop a community park and <br /> playground; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation wishes to provide <br /> $71,000 to the Kailapa Community Association; and <br /> WHEREAS, the grant funds will be used to defray some of the expense <br /> involved in developing the community park and playground indicated above; now, <br /> therefore <br />
