16. Flora/Fauna: As the project site was previously improved with a dwelling and business, <br /> and is located within an urban environment close to commercial, industrial and <br /> residential uses,no professional flora or fauna surveys were conducted. <br /> 17. Archaeological/HistoricaI Resources: No professional archaeological surveys were <br /> conducted of the site, due to the history of development including a dwelling and <br /> business. The applicant and the Planning Department requested for comments from the <br /> Department of Land and Natural Resources—State Historic Preservation Division. As of <br /> the date of this writing,no response has been received. <br /> 18. Cultural or Native Gathering Rights: There is no evidence of any traditional and <br /> customary Native Hawaiian rights being practiced on the site, nor existence of any known <br /> valued cultural,historical or native resources in the area. <br /> 19. Public Access: There is no record of a designated public access to the shoreline or <br /> mountain areas that traverses the property. <br /> PUBLIC UTILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 20. Access: The access to the project site will be from Manono Street, which is a County <br /> owned and maintained roadway and identified as a secondary arterial with an existing <br /> right-of-way width of 60 feet fronting the property. The Department of Public Works <br /> (DPW)recommends that the applicant provide improvements to the property's entire <br /> Manono Street frontage consisting of,but not limited to,pavement widening with <br /> concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, drainage improvements, and any required utility <br /> relocation. <br /> 21. Water: County water is available to the site. <br /> 22. Wastewater: The project area is serviced by a County sewer system. <br /> 23. Solid Waste: According to the applicant, all solid waste with the current operation is <br /> handled by the owner. The current volume of solid waste developed by this operation is <br /> small and does not require a commercial handler. <br /> 24. Essential Utilities and Services: Electricity and telephone services are available to the <br /> project site.
