BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to enter into negotiations for the acquisition of Niuli`i, covered by tax map keys (3) 5-2-001:020 and 025 as shown in the attached "Exhibit A." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance is authorized to initiate any funding mechanisms required for the acquisition of the Niuli`i properties in accordance with Chapter 2, Article 42 of the Hawai`i County Code, relating to the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Fund. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Hawai`i welcomes help from Kohala community groups such as Kohala Lihikai, Kamakani '0 Kohala `Ghana, Malama Kohala Kahakai, Malama Na Wahi Pana '0 Kohala, Maika`i Kamakani '0 Kohala, Kohala Historic and Cultural Preservation Committee, and Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, which have all pledged to help seek additional funding for the purchase of these properties. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Mayor William P. Kenoi, the Director of Finance, the Director of Parks and Recreation, and the Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission.
