COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 103 <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983, <br />ADDING ARTICLE 35, RELATING TO THE HAWAII COUNTY FAMILY <br />VIOLENCE ADVISORY COMMISSION. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 2 of the Hawaii County Code 1983, is <br />amended to read as follows: <br />"ARTICLE 35. Family Violence Advisory Commission. <br />SECTION 35-1. Organization. There shall be a committee <br />composed of a minimum of nine (9) but not to exceed <br />fifteen (15) members who shall be appointed by the mayor. Any <br />member of the committee may be removed by the mayor. <br />A. Purposes of Commission: <br />1. Prevent and reduce family violence in the County <br />of Hawaii. <br />2. Promote public awareness and education about <br />family violence in the County of Hawaii. <br />3. To act to improve upon the services to victims and <br />their families. <br />4. Promote and facilitate interagency training on the <br />dynamics of family violence. <br />5. Identify community concerns and assist with the <br />study and investigation of resources, activities <br />and political attitudes in the community that <br />would assist the Commission to address the family <br />violence. <br />
