COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 143 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 5, OF THE <br />HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br />PARKING. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. The purpose of this amendment is to address concerns caused by cars <br />parking on the shoulder of Highway 190, creating pedestrian safety concerns and limited <br />visibility for area residents exiting their driveways. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No <br />parking at anytime) subsection (e), Kohala, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as <br />amended) is amended by adding the new item below and renumbering as required: <br />( ) Highway 190 (Mamalahoa Highway), southeast side, from a point <br />one thousand one hundred ninety feet southwest of Lindsey Road <br />and extending three hundred thirty feet in the northeasterly <br />direction_ <br />SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is <br />underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and <br />underscoring need not be included. <br />SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br />to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br />applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or <br />application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br />SECTION 5.
