Rodillas ' , <br /> Request: FA-2a to FA-la <br /> Tax Map Key: 2-5-040:042 <br /> The Windward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on March 3, 2016, <br /> recommended for your approval the proposed legislative bill for a Change of Zone from a Family <br /> Agricultural—2 acres (FA-2a)to a Family Agricultural— 1 acre(FA-1a) zoning district for 2.724 <br /> acres of land. The property is located along the northeast side of`Akala Road, approximately <br /> 320 feet from the 'Akala Road—Kaumana Drive intersection, Ponahawai, South Hilo, Hawaii. <br /> The Commission concurs with the following Planning Director's reasons for recommending <br /> favorable consideration of the request: <br /> The applicants are requesting to change the zoning district from Family <br /> Agricultural-2 acre(FA-2a) to Family Agricultural-1 acre(FA-1a) for 2.724 acres of <br /> land in order to subdivide the property into two parcels for family. <br /> In order to consider an area for any type of zoning designation, the applicable <br /> goals, policies and standards of the General Plan must be adequately addressed. It is only <br /> through such a comprehensive policy analysis approach that evaluations and decisions <br /> can be made to better time and stage developments to achieve growth determined by the <br /> General Plan and related planning documents.
