WHEREAS,this year, FON will plan, facilitate, and host the 8th Annual Ocean Energy <br /> and Economic Development Symposium and Workshop, which will be held on June 23 and 24, <br /> 2017; and <br /> WHEREAS, FON is requesting funds to assist with the expenses relating to workshop <br /> materials, meals, and transportation to support the 8th Annual Ocean Energy and Economic <br /> Development Symposium and Workshop; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development provides assistance to <br /> Hawai`i Island's science and tech sector, including research, education, and businesses; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Friends of NELHA to plan, facilitate, and host <br /> the 8th Annual Ocean Energy and Economic Development Symposium and Workshop. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br /> FUND: General <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $5,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $5,000 <br /> CREDITED TO: <br /> 010.161.5163.20 Department of Research and Development $5,000 <br /> Business Development—R&D <br /> 115 Misc.
