Since
that time, the costs of improving and maintaining the County's roads, highway
infrastructure and mass transit operations has steadily increased. The Department of
Public Works and Mass Transit Agency propose an incremental fuel tax increase over the
next three fiscal years, with the final increase to occur during Fiscal Year 2019-20 in
order to ensure the County's ability to address these needs.
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to increase the existing fuel tax of 8.8
cents per gallon incrementally from FY2017-18 through FY2019-20 to a final rate of 23
cents per gallon.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Aaron Brown of Public
Works, at 961-8463.
/ '
Collins Tomei
Director of Finance
APP ( VED -
i,
Harry Kim
Mayor
Enc. <7\e5t-Ra_11>
comm.
