REQUEST: <br /> The Department of Public Works and Mass Transit Agency propose a fuel tax increase of ten and two- <br /> tenths (10.2) cents, increasing the existing fuel tax from 8.8 cents to 19 cents per gallon for fiscal year <br /> 2017-2018; increased by an additional two cents per gallon for the Fiscal Year 2018-2019, thereby <br /> making the aggregate county of Hawai`i fuel tax on liquid fuel twenty one (21) cents per gallon for the <br /> Fiscal Year 2018-2019; increased by an additional two cents per gallon for the Fiscal Year 2019-2020, <br /> thereby making the aggregate county of Hawaii fuel tax on liquid fuel twenty three (23) cents per gallon <br /> for the Fiscal Year 2019-2020, all to support the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of County <br /> roads, mass transit, and highway infrastructure. <br /> B.
