Ching of District 7 to the Hawaii County's <br /> Kailua Village Design Commission. Originally from Hawai'i, Mr. Ching is a retired <br /> teacher who spent over 35 years teaching in the Los Angeles School District until he <br /> returned home in 2010. He subsequently worked with the Hawai'i Department of <br /> Education for 6 more years as a Vice Principal until his retirement in June, 2016. Mr. <br /> Ching holds a Bachelor's of Education degree from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa <br /> and a Master's of Arts degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). <br /> Although he spent many years on the mainland, Mr. Ching has strong ties to the Big <br /> Island especially in North Kohala where his family roots began. <br /> Mr. Ching is an active member of our island community and currently serves the Vice <br /> President of the West Hawai'i Pony League and a member of the Design Review <br /> Committee of the Pualani Estates Board. <br /> Mr. Ching states he is not affiliated with any political party.
