No. 519 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 11:00 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 519, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 519, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated September 29, 2017, <br /> nominates Mr. Jay Furfaro to the Hawaii County Board of Appeals. <br /> Mr. Furfaro is a former Council Member of the Kaua`i County Council where he served as Chair <br /> and Vice Chair. He also served as the Kauai Mayor's Administrator for Boards and <br /> Commissions. Mr. Furfaro has recently become a resident of the Big Island, and states that he is <br /> a registered Democrat. If confirmed, he will serve a vacant term ending December 31, 2021. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Mr. Furfaro who appeared in <br /> the Hilo Chambers for this nomination. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of Mr. Furfaro. The vote was then taken with <br /> eight Council Members voting"aye."
