In addition, a total of $7,434,083.77 was obtained from state and federal grants along with a $2,000,000.00 private donation from Kohanaiki Shores (KS). The 2017 Annual Report to the Mayor"Status of Properties on Past Prioritized Lists 2006-2016" (Appendix 3) progressively reports the current status of the nominated properties and matching funds for those successfully acquired. This area will remain in open space and acquisition ensures the preservation and protection of low land Native Hawaiian forest, historic and cultural sites and public access along the shoreline.
