He attended Appalachian State University and graduated <br /> with Essential Medical Training for Army Aviators in 1971. <br /> As the past Chairperson of the Windward Planning Commission, Mr. Henkel has a list of <br /> community service, which includes previous time on the Fire Commission from 2010 <br /> through 2013 and being a member of the Puna Canoe Club. <br /> Mr. Henkel indicates that he is not affiliated with any political party.
