No. 832 <br /> PLACE: Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:04 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 • <br /> Your Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit, to which was referred Communication No. 832, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Communication 832,transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated March 21, 2018, nominates <br /> Gregory Charles Henkel of Council District 5 to the Fire Commission. Mr. Henkel has been employed <br /> at Connections Public Charter School and Hawai`i Academy of Arts and Science. He attended <br /> Appalachian State University and graduated with Essential Medical Training for Army Aviators in 1971. <br /> Mr. Henkel was a Chairperson of the Windward Planning Commission. In addition, Mr. Henkel's <br /> community services included being a member of the Fire Commission from 2010 through 2013 and <br /> being a member of the Puna Canoe Club. <br /> Mr. Henkel indicates that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed,he willserve a full <br /> term that expires December 31, 2022.
