REQUEST: <br /> Requesting a bill for an ordinance to appropriate $1,300,000.00 for the Program Year(PY) 2018 Workforce <br /> Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to fund the following activities: <br /> 065.3309.23 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act $1,300,000.00 <br /> 065.432.5433.13 WIOA Administration/Planning 18-19 $ 130,000.00 <br /> 065.432.5433.14 WIOA Adult Program 18-19 $ 400,000.00 <br /> 065.432.5433.15 WIOA Dislocated Worker Program 18-19 $ 345,000.00 <br /> 065.432.5433.16 WIOA Youth.Program 18-19 $ 425,000.00 <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> This appropriation reflects anticipated funding allocations by the Department of Labor and Industrial <br /> Relations for the PY18 WIOA program. These funds will be utilized to assist adults, dislocated workers and <br /> youth by providing services that will train individuals to increase employment, retention, earnings, skills and <br /> literacy and thereby improving the quality of the 3, reducing welfare dependency and enhancing the <br /> productivity and competiveness of the local economy. <br /> The OHCD emphasizes that no County General Funds are involved in these transactions.
