REQUEST: <br /> Please submit the attached bill to amend Ordinance No. 17-39, as amended,. the Operating Budget for <br /> the County of Hawaii for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2018 to add Community Development Block <br /> Grant (CDBG) revenue and appropriate the same for the General Fund, as follows: <br /> 010.3301.19 Federal Block Grant $ 2,428,055.00 <br /> 010.3607.08 Block Grant - Program Income $ 100,000.00 <br /> 010.931.5935.78 Paradise Park Fire Station - Wildland 4x4 Brush Truck 270 000.00 <br /> 010.931.59.35.79 Kulaimano Elderly Renovations $ 850,000.00 <br /> 010.931.5935.80 Hale Maluhia Men's Shelter - Roof & ADA Improvements $ 151,742.00 <br /> 010.931.5935.81 Kiheipua Family Shelter - Roof and Kitchen Renovations $ 137,753.00 <br /> 010.931.5935.82 Boys and Girls Club - Gym and Paving Improvements $ 571,560.00 <br /> 010. 931.5935.83 Boys and Girls Club - Van Acquisition $ 47,000.00 <br /> 010.931.5935.84 Administration, Planning & Fair Housing $ 500,000.00 <br /> Please also submit a resolution approving and adopting the 2018 County of Hawaii Action Plan and <br /> authorizing the Mayor of the County of Hawaii to execute and submit the Consolidated/Action Plan <br /> and all other related documents to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for <br /> the CDBG, HOME and HTF Programs. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED) : <br /> This appropriation reflects anticipated CDBG funding from HUD for the PY2018 CDBG program income <br /> received or anticipated to be received by the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) . <br /> These funds will be utilized to encourage the development of viable communities by providing decent <br /> housing, suitable and safe living environments, and providing accessibility for disabled <br /> individuals to public facilities. All of these projects will benefit persons of low and moderate <br /> income throughout the island of Hawaii. <br /> The Action Plan is submitted to HUD annually and includes the actual projects and activities that <br /> will be carried out with the County's 2018 CDBG funds.
