He also manages a small family farm in Waikane, Oahu producing <br />local, free range poultry and eggs. Keoni attended the Wharton School of Business at <br />the University of Pennsylvania, graduating with a Bachelors of Economics with a <br />concentration in Marketing and Environmental Management. An avid hiker and native <br />Hawaiian plant enthusiast, Keoni is also a board member of the Ala Kabakai Trail <br />Association representing Ka'u District. As a cultural practitioner with ancestral ties to <br />Naalehu, Keoni is a strong advocate for the protection of cultural and natural resources <br />in Ka'u. He actively participates in community efforts aimed at preserving the Ka'u <br />coastline and its treasured wahipana. With a Master's degree in <br />cultural anthropology (specializing in Hawai'i Island cultural knowledge and folklore) <br />she also has experience working with planners and researchers for many nonprofit land <br />and cultural issues over the past 35 years. She is also adept at organizing and managing <br />the research, writing, and publishing of reports, booklets, and other documents. She led <br />and managed all of Ho'omalu's projects until she left, in July/20x7, to pursue other <br />native endeavors in New Mexico. <br />W <br />
