An Out line of [kaho Town <br /> 1. History <br /> Ikaho has long been known throughout Japan as a beautiful natural hot <br /> springs town since it was found in the 10th century. <br /> <br /> 2. Location and population <br /> [kaho town is located in the ceter part of Gu?una prefecture northeastward <br /> from Tokyo by 130 kilometers and it is located on the upper slope of Mount <br /> Haruna at an averaged elevation of 750 meters. <br /> [t covers an area of 22.32 square kilometers. <br /> Ikaho's population stands at 4.300 people. <br /> 3. Main industries <br /> They are tourism and tourism related industries. <br /> There are about 60 hotels which have sleeping accommodations for 12.000 <br /> guests. <br /> 2.500,000 tourists come to [kaho every year. <br /> 4. Administration in [kaho <br /> The town council is constituted 14 members who are elected by the towns- <br /> people. (Their term of office are for 4 years. We will have the <br /> election on September the 29th in this year.) <br /> Under the mayor. there are an assistant mayor, a treasurer and about 150 <br /> office clerks. <br /> 5. Public institutions <br /> There are a preschool. an elementary school. a junior high school. <br /> a gymnasium and a baseball ground. <br /> <br />
