"Tim" Richards III, Council Member Council District 9 -North and South Kohala SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Resolution No. 616-18; A Resolution Authorizing a Decrease in the County of Hawai`i Fuel Tax for Fiscal Years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. Please see below proposed amendments to Resolution No. 616-18, relating to a decrease in the County of Hawaii fuel tax. The proposed amendments are shown in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No. 616-18; material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken and material to be added is underscored. 1. The fifth WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows: "WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i may consider other revenue sources for the improvement and maintenance of County roads, highway infrastructure, and mass transit, therefore, the County Council finds that additional increases to the fuel tax for future fiscal years are no longer necessary and that the fuel tax should be decreased to [4-4] 15 cents per gallon for fiscal years 2018-2019 and 2019-2020; and" 2. The sixth WHEREAS clause is amended to read as follows: "WHEREAS, the County Council finds that the fuel tax should be decreased by [fes] four cents per gallon for fiscal year 2018-2019, thereby making the aggregate County of Hawai`i fuel tax on liquid fuel at [4-4] 15 cents per gallon for fiscal year 2018- 2019; and" Comm.
