Budget <br />Deanna S. Sako <br />Director <br />The County of Hawaii has been awarded $250,000 from the United States Department of <br />Conunerce., Economic Development Administration. These funds will be used to create an <br />economic recovery plan to provide. relief, recovery and relocation strategies for the recent K11auea <br />eruption. <br />Enclosed is a resolution to enter into an agreement to accept these funds. Also enclosed is a bill <br />for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating this $250,000 grant. The <br />Department of Research and Development is requesting that this resolution and bill be waived <br />from the Finance Conn-nittee and be placed on the January 9, 2019 Council agenda and that the <br />Council's five-day hold for reconsideration be waived in order to expedite the receipt of these <br />funds. <br />If 'there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Ron Whitmore, Deputy Director of the, <br />Department of Research and Development at 961-8003. <br />Deanna S.
