Chung, Council Chair <br /> and Members of the County Council <br /> County of Hawai`i <br /> 25 Aupuni Street <br /> Hilo,HI 96720 <br /> Dear Chair Chung and Council Members: <br /> SUBJECT: Change of Zone Application (REZ 18-000231) <br /> Request: RS-10 to CG-20 <br /> Applicant: Bank of Hawaii <br /> Tax Map Key: 2-2-024:003 <br /> The Windward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on January 3, 2019, recommended <br /> for your approval the proposed legislative bill for a Change of Zone from Single-Family Residential- <br /> 10,000 square feet(RS-10)to a General Commercial-20,000 square feet(CG-20)zoning district. The <br /> property is located at 1339 Kino`ole Street, at the northeast corner of its intersection with West <br /> Lanikaula Street, Waiakea Houselots, South Hilo, Hawaii. 1 <br /> At its meeting on January 3, 2019,the Windward Planning Commission voted to forward a favorable <br /> recommendation to the County Council for Change of Zone Application REZ 18-000231, with changes <br /> to Condition B (Complete Construction), which clarified the type, location and height of a privacy <br /> fence/wall intended to mitigate adverse noise and visual impact to surrounding property owners. In <br /> addition, the Commission agreed to add a new Condition C (Consolidation), which requires the <br /> consolidation of three(3) lots of record within the subject parcel prior to obtaining Final Plan <br /> Approval. Adding this condition re-lettered all of the subsequent conditions. Finally,the Commission <br /> voted to replace Condition H(West Lanikaula Street Access),which originally limited access from <br /> West Lanikaula Street to right-in/right-out movements,to a condition suggested by the applicant to <br /> Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer <br />
