COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />119 19 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br />INTO A MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES <br />DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Research & Development wishes to enter into a <br />multi-year agreement for two (2) years with the United States Department of <br />Transportation (DOT); and <br />WHEREAS, the agreement will allow the U.S. DOT to contract for Essential Air <br />Service (EAS) at Kamuela Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease <br />or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal <br />year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br />or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br />granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br />connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />
