Aaron Chung, Council Chair <br /> And Members of the Hawaii County Council <br /> March 22, 2019 <br /> On March 22nd, 2019,the ad hoc committee reviewed the recommended amounts for applicant <br /> organizations submitted by each ad hoc committee member. These recommendations took into <br /> account each organization's specific performance measures, expenditures, directives and its <br /> impact statement. The recommendations set forth in Exhibit A were based upon an average of <br /> the ad hoc committee members' combined recommendations. Although amounts requested by <br /> organizations far exceeded recommended award amounts, all applicants expressed their <br /> understanding and conveyed their determination to continue providing services to supplement <br /> the needs of our island communities and increasing population. <br /> Based on application responses relating to services or activities to be provided by each <br /> organization, the category of services, as defined in Hawai`i County Code Section 2-137 (3), <br /> were attributed as follows: * <br /> Category Service/Activity Provided Totals <br /> E Educational Concerns 103 <br /> C Culture and Arts 48 <br /> P Needs of the Poor 91 <br /> Y Youth 98 <br /> A Aged 108 <br /> D Physical/Emotional Disabilities 62 <br /> VI Victims of Crimes 63 <br /> V2 Victims of Health or Social Crisis 38 <br /> 0 Other(Public Health and Welfare 62 <br /> of People and the Environment <br /> *Many organizations listed multiple categories of services to be provided.
