The grant funds will be used to identify climate change impacts and <br /> develop mitigation measures, action priorities, and an implementation plan. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the Department of <br /> Defense, State of Hawai`i for these funds. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the <br /> Operating Budget by appropriating this $75,000 to the Department of Research and Development's <br /> FEMA Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program account. <br /> The Department of Research and Development is requesting that this bill be waived from Finance <br /> 1 Committee and be placed on the May 8, 2019 Council agenda, and to waive the Council's five-day <br /> hold for reconsideration in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
