COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> ` �="� �i ` STATE OF HAWAII <br /> :'�� ...,�.�. <br /> �rE•Os•NI►� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 260 "19 <br /> RESOLUTION ABOLISHING AN ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN POSITION <br /> AND CREATING A TRAFFIC TECHNICIAN IV POSITION WITHIN THE <br /> DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS' TRAFFIC DIVISION <br /> WHEREAS, Article V, Section 5-1.3(c) of the Hawaii County Charter states that <br /> the Mayor has the power to "Create positions...for which appropriations have been <br /> made by the council and abolish positions with the consent of the council."; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Electronics Technician position, Position No. 00-04840, class of <br /> work is not meeting the needs of the Division; and <br /> WHEREAS, there is a need for a Traffic Technician IV due to the increasing <br /> number of signalized intersections and the evolving electronics and equipment used to <br /> run these signals; and ' <br /> WHEREAS, the Division is also implementing regularly scheduled traffic signal <br /> maintenance and retiming programs, which requires more staff to perform electronics <br /> maintenance, traffic studies and investigations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works is requesting that Position No. 00- <br /> 04840, Electronics Technician, BC-15, position be abolished and that a Traffic <br /> Technician IV, SR-19, position be created in the Traffic Division; and <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY <br /> OF HAWAII that Position No. 00-04840, Electronics Technician, BC-15, position be <br /> abolished and that a Traffic Technician IV, SR-19, position be created. <br />
