REQUEST: <br /> A resolution to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii Attorney General's office. <br /> We are requesting the Council's permission,to accept federal funds that are provided by the State of Hawaii <br /> Attorney General's office for the purchase of 59 desktop computers, 59 MS Office Pro Plus Licenses and 59 <br /> PDF Licenses. <br /> We are requesting to amend Ordinance 19-73 as amended, the Operating Budget for The County of Hawaii for <br /> the fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2020. This would include amending the budget to appropriate the funds to the <br /> project and creating a general ledger account and revenue account for the funds. The Attorney General's office <br /> will reimburse for the expenses. <br /> We are requesting the waiving of further reading so as to expedite this process as time is an issue for this <br /> project. <br /> K <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney needs to replace 59 computers and software licenses, all of which were <br /> purchased/between 2011 and 2014. These 59 computers will be used by Office of the Prosecuting Attorney <br /> staff that complete criminal history work, as well as other work, on their computers. <br /> These 59 computers will replace existing computers that are using Windows 7, which will not be supported after <br /> 1/2020. Microsoft will no longer publish security patches and updates for Windows 7 after end of life. CJIS <br /> Security Policy 5.10.4.1 Patch Management states, "The agency (or the software developer/vendor in the case <br /> of software developed and maintained by a vendor/contractor) shall develop and implement a local policy that <br /> ensures prompt installation of newly released security relevant patches, service packs and hot fixes".
