REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for a Forklift for a period of five <br /> (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management Wastewater Division. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Wastewater Division is requesting to lease finance a Forklift to replace the existing unit. The current <br /> Forklift is close to 30 years old and has reached the end of it's useful life. The Automotive Division has <br /> informed us that replacement parts for the existing Forklift are difficult to find or may not be available which <br /> means completion of repairs will take longer. <br /> The necessity of a Forklift is to lift and transport machinery, industrial equipment, chemical totes, sludge bins <br /> and rubbish bins. <br /> The purchase price is estimated at $60,000.00. The monthly lease payment is estimated at $1,005.00. This <br /> equipment will be lease financed such that the County will own the equipment at the end of the five year <br /> lease. <br /> Funding for this equipment was not included in the FY1 9-20 budget as the need to replace the existing unit <br /> has recently been brought to the Division's attention.
