Ms. Cardwell is a Licensed Massage <br /> Therapist and owner of Banyan Massage Hale in Hilo. <br /> Ms. Cardwell holds Bachelor degrees in English and Women Studies from Oberlin <br /> College in Ohio. She has lived in Hawai'i for approximately 17 years and has made <br /> Hawai'i her home. Concerned about our environment, Ms. Cardwell started the "Plastic- <br /> Free Big Island Group" to educate our community about reducing plastic consumption. <br /> She has also participated in the Surfrider initiatives where she collected water samples <br /> around the Hilo area to test for bacteria. <br /> Ms. Cardwell is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, she will serve to fill a <br /> vacant term to end December 31, 2020. <br /> Your review and favorable confirmation are requested.
