No. 546 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> TIME: 2:30 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Agriculture, Water, Energy, and Environmental Management,to which was <br /> referred Communication No. 546, reports as follows: <br /> Communication 546, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated October 18, 2019, nominates Melissa <br /> Rose Cardwell of Council District 5 to the County of Hawaii Environmental Management Commission. <br /> As introduced by Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant for Mayor Kim, Ms. Cardwell has been an <br /> island resident for the past 17 years. She participates in Surfrider initiatives by collecting water samples <br /> to test for bacteria in Hilo, and has created the community group "Plastic-Free Big Island" with the <br /> intent to educate the community about reducing plastic consumption.
