Compensation Branch, in current and future workers' compensation cases involving the County, 2. That the County agrees to compensate Special Counsel in accordance with the following rate schedule: A. Special Counsel shall be compensated at the rate of ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($120.00) per hour for any and all legal professional services, including pre-hearing, hearing, pre-trial, trial and post-hearing and appeals work in assigned cases. Attorney travel time is chargeable to the County only to the extent that work for other clients is not performed during travel and subject to other limitations as set forth herein. Paralegal time shall be compensated at the rate of FORTY-FIVE AND NOM 00 DOLLARS ($45.00) per hour. B. Special Counsel shall bill the County for all reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, including filing and service fees, witness fees, deposition fees and deposition transcripts, telephone and telegraph communications, courier or messenger services, private investigators, copying or printing of all records and briefs, and travel expenses. Special Counsel shall, as a condition of such reimbursement, present copies of all invoices and/or receipts for such out-of-pocket expenses. Reimbursement or payment for any "out-of-pocket" expenses shall be deducted from the amount of funds set aside for this agreement. For any out of state travel, the County will only reimburse Special Counsel the cost of an "economy" or"coach" class airline ticket. Special Counsel agrees to first obtain approval from the County in the event out of state travel is required.
