REQUEST: <br /> Request a resolution for the County to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the State Department of <br /> Health, Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Division for the purpose of receiving grant funds <br /> to implement a "Quick Build" (e.g. Tactical Urbanism, Pop-up, Placemaking etc) demonstration project that <br /> utilize simple physical objects that can be cheaply purchased and chealy installed to improve local <br /> communites' built environment promoting walking, bicycling and transit . This Agreement covers the period of <br /> January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2020. <br /> Please create an ordinance to appropriate funds up to $49,500.00 to revenue account 010.3309.25 and <br /> expense account 010.141.5141.61.104. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> Quick Build Projects are intened to deliver improved saftey, new transportation and better health outcomes <br /> by quickly implementating projects that promote walking, bicycling and tranist through safe, connected routes <br /> and health community design. The Couty of Hawaii passed a Complete Streets Policy in October of 2011 <br /> (Res. 171-11).
