4. Public Testimony No Public Testimony <br />on Agenda Items. <br />5. New Business A. Nominations and Election of Committee Chair Walters informed the <br />Officers Committee that June is when <br />a. Nominations to Chair, Vice Chair, and Elections for new officers will <br />Secretary/ Treasurer. take place. <br />c. Election of Officers Committee member Susan <br />Shirachi volunteered to be <br />Secretary, but needed to discuss <br />somethings with the Chair before <br />proceeding. <br />Committee member Punihaole <br />and Committee member <br />Nagasawa nominated Linda <br />Gonzales as Chair. <br />Punihaole nominated Penny <br />Alcoran as Vice Chair. <br />The Committee decided Elections <br />will be held at the next meeting. <br />B. Discussion on creating Two Mayor's Sam Nagasawa explained that it <br />Committees on People with Disabilities. would be easier and more feasible <br />West Hawaii and East Hawaii to have 2 Committees one on the <br />East Side and one on the West <br />Side. She also stressed that you <br />spend the whole day travelling if <br />the meeting is held on the other <br />side of the Island. She felt this <br />would increase participation and <br />audience as well. <br />Committee Member Punihaole <br />felt it is a good idea. <br />Committee Member Yogi <br />indicated that he did not want to <br />move the item forward without <br />Tage 2 of 2 Hawai 'i County is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
