<br /> <br />Page 20 <br />1 <br />one attorney might work with government for 20 years, <br />2 <br />but if it's in an area where it's different from what <br />3 <br />we do, you know, I normally wouldn't go by the scale. <br />4 <br />I would go by a lower scale because there's so much to <br />5 <br />learn in this County alone. <br />6 <br />So, I do have a chart that I utilize so that <br />7 <br />it would be fair to everybody who comes into our <br />8 <br />office because I believe, too, that, you know, we have <br />9 <br />to be fair to everybody; and if they get better, then I <br />10 <br />use that chart to give them raises. <br />11 <br />MR. HIGGINS: Part of our mandate, or a <br />16 <br />majority of our mandate, is to examine the public <br />17 <br />sector and private sector comparable jobs. Do you have <br />18 <br />any idea on what the average attorney on this island in <br />19 <br />the private sector might make? <br />20 <br />MR. KAMELAMELA: I think it depends on the <br />21 <br />size of the law firm because I know that there's <br />22 <br />people with my level of experience that make more than <br />23 <br />what I do; and so we're talking about the Goodsills and <br />24 <br />the (indiscernible).
