C. Report back from HIWLF Summit (M. Spencer, J. Marques, D. Toledo- <br />Ebreo, B. Derby, L. Heely) <br />Brooke Derby reported that the Summit was a success and the Keynote <br />speaker was phenomenal! She talked about identifying your sponsors (not <br />your mentors) but someone who will stick up for you, stand by you no <br />matter what. Enjoyed the Conscience Communication Session with Julie <br />Mitchell and the key take-aways were: N.A.M= Not about me! Asking <br />Questions is about you not them. Samples of Narrow focused questions <br />are: How did that make you feel? What do you want to do about the <br />situation? A sample close -ended question is: Will that resolve the issue for <br />you? Loved Katie Moore's session -it was powerful! Mele reported she <br />thought the conference was wonderful and thought we did a fantastic job! <br />Deb reported that her boss had some complaints- the parking, her <br />payment issue, needed better signs as you arrived, registered and for the <br />breakout sessions. Was confusing to know which session was where. <br />ACTION ITEM: Leave this on agenda so Jessie and Lee -Ann can give their reports. <br />VIII. PROJECTS <br />A. Teen Dating Violence <br />• Website edits — Mele confirmed that all edits were made by YWCA <br />to CSW Website. Mele will check with YWCA to see about Meta <br />Tag Link to Website. Brooke will post link to CSW Website on <br />Hawaii Leadership Forum Facebook page. <br />• Project Plan for 2016 — Debra and Jewel will meet before the next <br />CSW meeting to finalize Project Plan for Teen Dating Violence. <br />B. Real Women Essay Contest Sub -Committee <br />• 2016 Real Women Essay Contest Project Plan and Rational was <br />handed out by Farrah to CSW Committee. Jewel moved to <br />accept 2016 Real Women Essay Contest Project Plan and <br />Rationale. Mele second with edits to projected income. Mele <br />motioned to give the committee authority to pursue discretionary <br />funding from council members to offset cost for 2016 Real <br />Women Essay Contest. Brooke second and the motion was <br />carried. <br />C. Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum <br />• HIWLF Committee will have a debriefing meeting and will bring <br />back a summary of the meeting to the next CSW meeting. <br />D. CSW Brochure <br />• On Aug 29th Farrah emailed Lisa asking for a quote for paper. No <br />response as of this meeting. Farrah will follow-up. <br />3 <br />
