Ueoka: It would be early, like a "pau hana" night, but not a primary part. We just put it
in for flexibility. But we most likely plan on just weekends, Friday, and Saturdays.
Salave`a: Okay. The space designated for the dance floor, does that have to be clear
and outlined or can that be designated per event, or when the live music is occurring?
Takase: They don't have to designate a permanent location. They just need to have
100 square feet, if they're going to have it. It's a new concept for this area, but at the
Queens' Shops, at ABC, KTA, and Aloha Wine Bar, there is a similar concept where it
is attached to the store. There's some delineation, and it's small, like this one. So,
whoever is going to be on duty can monitor inside and outside. Also, at Prince Kuhio,
there is Maui Tacos. They are contiguous to a commercial area. They have signage
and, I think, surfboards to mark off the consumption area from the regular commercial
area.
Salave`a: Okay, I think that's all the questions I have. Thank you.
Nahale-a: Thank you. Anyone else?
There was no public testimony.
Onizuka: Madam Chair, I move to approve Application No. 19-06; if approved, public
hearing to be held on December 5, 2019, in Kona
Raymond: Second.
Mr. Onizuka moved to approve Application No., 19-06, The
Kalama Beach Corporation, Pahoa General Store (Restaurant),
for an original Restaurant General liquor license, Category B2,
located at 15-2714 Pahoa Village Road Pahoa, Hawaii,
TMK: 1-5-007:069; seconded by Ms. Raymond.
Nahale-a: Moved and seconded to approve Application No. 19-06. Any discussion on
this motion?
There was no discussion from the Commissioners.
Nahale-a: All those in favor say, "Aye."
The Commissioners voted "Aye."
Nahale-a: Any opposed?
There was no opposition by the Commissioners.
Nahale-a: Motion carries. Thank you very much.
The motion was carried unanimously.
Ueoka: Thank you.
OCTOBER 3, 2019 - LIQUOR COMMISSION MINUTES 10
