Minutes <br />Regular Meeting of the Pension Board <br />August 26, 2019 <br />County Building, First Floor — Council Room, Hilo, Hawai`i <br />CALL TO ORDER: The quarterly meeting of the Pension Board was called to order at 1:35 p.m. by <br />Vice -Chair Emma Sousa. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Present: <br />Emma Sousa, Vice -Chair <br />Mae Ikeda, Member <br />Irma Sumera, Member <br />Absent & Excused: Nyala Neill, Chair <br />Jerry Hamamoto, Member <br />Also Present: <br />Jon Henricks, County Clerk, Ex -Officio Secretary <br />Aaron Brown, Deputy County Clerk <br />Deanna Sako, Finance Director, Ex -Officio Treasurer <br />Craig Masuda, Deputy Corporation Counsel (came in later) <br />Kay Oshiro, Controller, Finance Department <br />Linda Young, Payroll Specialist II, Finance Department <br />Dee Torres, Secretary, Office of the County Clerk -Council <br />Haku Keli`i, Administrative Assistant, Office of the County Clerk -Council <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: (There were none.) <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: November 26, 2018 <br />Ms. Ikeda moved to approve the minutes of November 26, 2018. Seconded by Ms. Sumera. <br />The motion was carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Board Members Ikeda, Sumera, and Vice -Chair Sousa — 3. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. Vice -Chair Sumera proceeded with the application for pension from the County of Hawaii <br />for Mrs. Frances L. Alpiche, widow of Peter Alpiche (retired County of Hawai`i Parks and <br />Recreation Band Member). <br />Ms. Sumera made a motion to approve the pension application of Mrs. Alpiche. <br />Seconded by Ms. Ikeda. <br />The motion was carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Board Members Ikeda, Sumera, and Vice -Chair Sousa — <br />
