<br /> <br />§3-27 Waiver of pre-entry medical examinations. <br /> <br />(a) An appointing authority may waive a pre-entry medical <br />examination when a person is appointed within six months from the <br />date of the person's last pre-entry medical examination. If a person <br />is appointed after six months but not later than twelve months from <br />the date of the person's last pre-entry medical examination, the <br />appointing authority may also waive the person from taking <br />another pre-entry medical examination prior to the appointment; <br />provided the person makes a written certification that the person <br />has not suffered any injury or illness since the person's last pre-entry <br />medical examination was approved by the County Physician. <br /> <br />(b) Where the appointing authority determines that the immediate <br />appointment is urgent and it is physically impossible for pre-entry <br />medical examinations to be completed prior to appointment, the <br />director may temporarily waive the pre-entry medical examination <br />requirement prior to appointment, provided that the pre-entry <br />medical examination must be taken within thirty days from the <br />date of such appointment. <br />\[Eff. 07-01-02; am 03-01-15\] (Auth: HRS §76-17) (Imp: HRS §76-18) <br /> <br />SUBCHAPTER 5 <br /> <br />CERTIFICATION <br /> <br />§3-28 Types of lists. <br /> <br />The types of eligible lists to be used for certification of eligibles to an <br />appointing authority shall be as follows: <br /> <br />(a) Select priority list. <br /> <br />(1) Eligibles on the select priority list consists of civil service <br />employees who were discharged because of a work-injury <br />based on their written request to the director, provided they <br />are not totally and permanently disabled and have been <br />medically cleared for vocational rehabilitation; <br /> <br />(2) The written request to the director for select priority <br />placement must be made by the employee within six <br />months of being medically cleared to participate in the <br />vocational rehabilitation program. Employees who fail to <br />request select priority placement within six months of being <br />cleared for vocational rehabilitation, or who decline to <br />accept such select priority placement, shall be considered <br />to have waived their right to select priority placement and <br />3-13 <br /> <br />
