Our Labor Relations Department <br />4 <br />is headed by Ms. Lee Botelho. And within this last period of <br />5 <br />time, she responded to 94 labor-relations-related <br />6 <br />inquiries from departments and HR staff. She revised the <br />7 <br />County's policies and procedures on separation of service. <br />8 <br />And that incorporated consultation with the unions, moving <br />9 <br />forward with that, on policies. <br />10 <br />She received and heard two grievances which <br />11 <br />probably will end up in your laps fairly soon. <br />12 <br />And then, finally, she partnered with, both her and <br />13 <br />I -- partnered with the office of corporation counsel and <br />14 <br />provided training to both East Hawai ʻ i and West Hawai ʻ i on <br />15 <br />performance valuations or JPRs. <br />16 <br />Next department is Recruitment and Exams. That's <br />17 <br />Gabriella, Ms. Gabriella Cabanas. And within this period of <br />18 <br />time, HR Specialist Marla Yamashita retired. And following <br />19 <br />an internal recruitment, the HR Tech II position was <br />20 <br />promoted -- Leslie Shimabukuro was promoted to Marla's old <br />21 <br />position. <br />22 <br />We also instituted mandatory County-wide training <br />23 <br />on effective job interviewing and skillset development and <br />24 <br />evaluation.
