<br />Page 38 <br />1 <br />on a matrix, right, steps and years of service, to help frame <br />2 <br />my -- to help me wrap my brain around your budgetary needs <br />3 <br />and the discussion that we had earlier, if there's <br />4 <br />25 bodies here, how many bodies exist in the other <br />5 <br />seven departments or the other 20-plus departments and <br />6 <br />agencies? <br />7 <br />And pay-scale wise, how are those positions, how do <br />8 <br />they stack up against the employees in your department? Are <br />9 <br />the hirees in your department almost entry level with the <br />10 <br />carrot at the end of the stick being those plum positions in <br />11 <br />the other departments? I'm only assuming, but I don't know. <br />12 <br />Are you able to, maybe at a future meeting, give us a graphic <br />13 <br />that shows us what it looks like so that we understand your <br />14 <br />challenges? <br />15 <br />And it goes back to anchoring my understanding of <br />16 <br />the training, the trainers, versus the County training <br />17 <br />budget. Everything is filtering through you folks. But <br />18 <br />going forward, how do we not set you up for failure? And <br />19 <br />especially as three of us are still, we're relatively new <br />20 <br />here -- it'll help us understand how to support your function <br />21 <br />better. <br />22 <br />MR.
