Report of the County of Hawaii Office of <br /> <br />Aging, Dr. Kimo Alameda <br /> <br /> Due to other appointments by the <br />D. Report of the County of Hawaii Equal <br /> Speaker, James Komata, this was <br />Opportunity and ADA Office Julie Rawlins <br /> moved up to the 4th item on the <br /> agenda. <br /> <br /> Ms. Rawlins’ report consisted of <br /> the presentation by the County of <br /> Hawaii Parks and Recreation <br /> Planning Department. Mr. James <br /> Komata (County of Hawaii Parks <br /> Planner) gave an update on the <br /> ADA renovations to the <br /> Richardson Ocean Park (ROP). <br /> The ADA renovations are part of <br /> a comprehensive ADA County <br /> Transition Plan that includes 15 <br /> other sites scheduled for ADA <br /> renovation. <br /> <br /> The ROP ADA renovations to <br /> include: 1) improvements to <br /> parking for a total of 4 van <br /> accessible parking stalls, 2) new <br /> shower area, 3) access route <br /> improvements between parking <br /> area and site facilities/common <br /> use areas up to the high water <br /> area, 4) improvements to the <br /> restroom area, and 5) <br /> multipurpose building <br /> renovations. All improvements <br /> will include ADA and other <br /> structural improvements that will <br /> increase access and long term <br /> benefits of sustainability in site <br /> use for the public.
