Response Team) program for <br /> <br />emergency notification purposes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The CERT program is a volunteer <br /> <br />program that trains and is <br /> <br />regulated by the County Civil <br /> <br />Defense, They are notified if they <br /> <br />are needed to assist in disasters <br /> <br />after being called up by County. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The County of Hawaii Civil <br /> Defense staff is Mr. Bill Hansen. <br />Hawaii County Citizen Corps <br /> <br />Council meet the 2nd Tuesday of <br /> <br />the month at the County <br /> <br />Building.Puna Conference Room <br /> <br />at 12 noon. They are developing <br /> <br />the 360 program not CERT, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A letter will be written from the <br /> <br />Committee to the Mayor <br /> <br />regarding the need for the County <br /> <br />residents be made aware of CERT <br /> and 360 as a resource to each <br />resident. Chair Walters and <br /> <br />Members Shirachi and Yogi will <br /> <br />help draft the letter to the Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Chair Walters to invite Mr. Bill <br /> <br />Hansen to the upcoming <br /> <br />Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Discussion on the need for <br /> <br />members to be informed of the <br /> <br />current needs of the Big Island <br /> <br />residents with disabilities. <br /> <br /> <br />To address this matter, the Chair <br />Committee awareness of the needs of <br />will offer invitations to selected <br />the communities <br />County and Community resources <br /> <br />to educate and share information <br /> <br />with the committee members. <br />The speakers will be asked to <br />address County of Hawaii issues <br />that are relevant to residents with <br />disabilities.
