Hawai'i County is racially and ethnically diverse. Over 28 percent of people identify as two or <br />more races. Compared to the State of Hawai'i, Hawai'i County has a larger number of people <br />identifying as Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, over one third of the population. A slim majority of the population of the county was born in the State of Hawai'i (55.6 <br />percent). Another 30.5 percent of the population was born in another U.S. state, and 11.9 percent <br />were born outside the U.S and its territories.
