DPW/LRB <br /> CONSTRUCTION CODE - DRAFT 5/26/20 <br /> For review and comment <br /> (b) Applications and required documents shall be filed in writing. After the authority having <br /> jurisdiction implements its electronic filing system, applicants may submit documents in <br /> writing or electronically. <br /> (c) Applications that do not conform with the provisions of division 2 shall not be accepted by <br /> the authority having jurisdiction. <br /> Section 5-4-2. Plans, specifications, and other data. <br /> (a) The following documents shall be submitted with each application for a permit: <br /> plans; specifications; engineering calculations; diagrams; soil investigation reports; code <br /> search; special inspection and structural observation programs; and other data as may be <br /> required by the authority having jurisdiction. {5-25(a)-(b), 9-30(b), 17-18(a).) <br /> (b) Number of sets of documents to be submitted with each application: <br /> (1) Two sets for single and two-family dwellings or town houses (R-3 Occupancy); <br /> (2) Two sets for accessory structures; and <br /> (3) Three sets for all other occupancies. {5-25(a), 17-18(b).) <br /> (c) Plans and specifications shall: <br /> (1) Be drawn to scale upon substantial 24 inch by 36 inch paper; {5-27(a).) <br /> (2) Be of sufficient clarity to indicate the nature and extent of the work proposed and <br /> show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of the construction code and all <br /> applicable laws; {5-27(a).) <br /> (3) Display the following information on the first sheet of each set of plans: <br /> (A) The tax map key number of the job site; {5-27(a).) <br /> (B) The name and address of the owner as referenced on real property records; <br /> {5-27(a).) <br /> (C) The name and address of the person who prepared the plans; {5-27(a).) <br /> (D) The following code search information: <br /> (i) The basis of the building design including but not limited to the following: <br /> type of construction; occupancy; basic allowable floor areas; separation <br /> for mixed occupancy; number of occupants, wind speed (basic, effective), <br /> wind exposure, seismic zone, and exposure, etc. In lieu of detailed <br /> specifications, the authority having jurisdiction may approve references on <br /> the plans to a specific section or part of the construction code or other <br /> ordinances or laws; {5-27(a).) <br /> (ii) Calculations, stress diagrams, and other data sufficient to show the <br /> correctness of the plans, shall be submitted when required by the authority <br /> having jurisdiction; {5-27(b).) <br /> (iii) All plans other than R-3 and U occupancies shall have on the plans <br /> information of occupancy, type of construction, floor area computations, <br /> allowable area increases, separation wall if used, fire resistive substitution, <br /> fire sprinkler, exits, etc.; {5-27(c).) <br /> (iv) Code search information for building design; and <br /> (v) Additional forms required in the construction code; and <br /> 19 <br />
