He likes the street art look and thinks that the whole brewery block being <br /> redevelopment and cleaned up is really nice, but is sort of cool to have the some remnants <br /> of the industrial area there and agrees that deterring the unwanted graffiti, was a pretty <br /> good way to do it. <br /> Chairman Roth asks if any other Commissioner had anything to add. <br /> Commissioner Ikeuchi did not know that the painting on the wall was the final graffiti <br /> artwork and appreciated the clarification. She likes the street art look. <br /> Commissioner Sullenberger commended the applicant on the idea of the preemptive <br /> graffiti artwork and successful strategy in preventing the false graffiti. Sullenberger <br /> mentions that the lamp post in that area could be the next target for random graffiti and <br /> wants to have some consideration about that. <br /> Commissioner Ikeuchi agrees with Commissioner Sullenberger that this sort of street <br /> style artwork is intentional and a cool angle in the industrial area being very well known <br /> for graffiti and says that she agrees with Commissioner Sullenberger that the lamp post <br /> could be added to their project. <br /> Mr. McCowatt said he wished he had thought of that idea and if he can get an approval, <br /> he will bring it up to Mr. Mattson Davis and recommend that the lamp post be painted as <br /> well to match the street artwork on the wall. <br /> Commissioner Werchick moves to approve the design in place and additionally approve <br /> the option of supplementing the design by painting the adjacent lamp posts. <br /> Commissioner Sullenberger seconds the motion. <br /> Chairman Roth confirms the motion by Commissioner's Werchick and second by <br /> Commissioner Sullenberger. <br /> Commissioner Hetherington said that there may be more than one lamp post and should <br /> put that in a plural. <br /> Chairman Roth confirms to make it known that notes should say "lamp posts,"plural <br /> and further opened the table for more discussion on the motion. <br /> Commissioner Crusat she does like the look of the graffiti artwork, but questioned how <br /> would, one touch something like that up if there was an instance that graffiti was painted <br /> over the artwork. <br /> Applicant McCowatt said that the best way is to invite the original artist back and the <br /> second best way would be to invite a competent artist to match it. Mattison has pretty <br /> good connections in that regard and it could be done fairly easily. <br /> Chairman Roth asks Commissioner Crusat if that answered her question.
