Hawaii Game Management Advisory Commission Meeting <br />Minutes – March 21, 2016 <br /> <br />?: \[not speaking in mic\] biology or anything but I do work in the nuclear field <br />and we have a, ah, human performance and so I have concern – I’ve <br />already listened here – and the first thing I already heard was we screwed <br />up once already, but we fired the guy. So what’s gonna happen down the <br />line – if we have all these safeguards – but how do we know we’re not <br />gonna have another mistake, another failure, another of the equipment <br />failed and we dispersed thirty pounds instead of 15 pounds. This is my <br />concern is, you know, we talk a good talk but we have the human <br />performance issue and like I’ve already heard today the human <br />performance has already failed – before – in the test trials – we haven’t <br />even got to the real thing and we’re already having mistakes, failures, and <br />everything else and the thing is, “Oh well, we made a mistake, but we fired <br />that guy and we’ll fire the next guy,” you know, and like the other lady was <br />saying – there are so many things – it’s like the rapid ohia death, you <br />know, we’ve got this thing that just jumped species – we never assumed it <br />would work – Fukushima, you know, we had no idea we were gonna have <br />a massive thing like that and that’s my concern with the poison and <br />everything it’s just – history is to repeated itself that it’s just been a bad <br />idea after a bad idea, after a bad idea but this time we have it figured out, <br />this time it’ll work and that’s my concern and along with a lot of other <br />things, but I just wanted to say that piece so – thank you very much – <br />nothing against the people that work and they’re trying to do their best, I <br />know that, but I know mistakes happen and there’s a lot of things that <br />aren’t figured into the calculations that have a bad habit of jumping up in <br />the future and biting us in the ass and says, well, we never figured that or <br />we never considered that or we never thought that was gonna be a <br />possibility – that’s just my concern – I wanted to voice and put it out there <br />to everybody – thank you. <br /> <br />TL: I’d like to move on to another subject which is why Jim is, but, ah, just on <br />this one last comment from mine is that, you know, the criteria, you know, <br />for some of the things that work against hunting like against pigs, or sheep <br />or goats – are that they might harm something… <br /> <br />MB: Hey, Tom? <br /> <br />TL: ….migrate… <br /> <br />?: They actually initiated the… <br /> <br />MB: Hey, Tom? <br /> <br />TL: Yo? <br /> <br /> 13 <br /> <br />
