IMANAKA: Oh, Hi, James Imanaka with the County of Hawaii Projects Coordinator. Yes, the
project has been bid out, we do have a low responsive bidder now and we are negotiating with
the low bidder as awarding the contract. We are also proceeded with the permit process and that
is where we are at now and provided we have this Special Permit to proceed with building permit
we will be able to award the contract.
REPLOGLE: Thank you sir. Any further questions? Yes, Mr. Aguinaldo.
AGUINALDO: I do have, it's great to see a contract going out but like what Fire Chief Perreira
like I asked I'm looking at the new revised plan. Do we see any future of our Central Fire
Station that is again is in a tsunami zone have room to further be put up here as well which kind
of make sense if you look at it not now, but for future? When I say future, I don't know maybe
you guys take ten (10), fifteen (15), twenty (20) years but its greatly needed. I'm not going to
get to the nitty-gritty okay I have retired Battalion Fire Chiefs stayed there and took an early
retirement and I'm not going to get deep in it. Do we see it having room for future that land that
can potentially put something like that? I know we have one in Haihai, brand new but what
about our Central. If you look at it, its tight going in and out we have homeless kind of loot
around there so it's the same location as out dispatch center for Fire and our Central Fire Station.
I like the project I like it move forward but I want my question to be answered are we looking
short-term or long-term? I see right by the new design by the fuel tank we have a driveway
there, we got our parking stalls, we got our driveway approach on that side street TMK: 2-4-
001:178 " " then great until funding is available.
REPLOGLE: What exactly was your question Mr. Aguinaldo?
AGUINALDO: My question is are we settling just an emergency call center or is there a
potential future built out in the back of it. Where you see the mechanical enclosure, emergency
generator building, fuel tank what's going to be in the back there?
REPLOGLE: I believe Chief Perreira intimated that was their hope as well to move
AGUINALDO: Right.
REPLOGLE: up there and have it all in one place
AGUINALDO: Right.
REPLOGLE: possibly having Civil Defense next door
AGUINALDO: Right.
REPLOGLE: and beyond that I don't know what answer anybody could give you at this
moment without, how do you put it actual forward motion on the part of our County Council, our
Mayor, or the Fire Department at this moment. But, in the overall plan that's what they plan to
do is my understanding from Chief Perreira.
11
EXHIBIT B
