§ 5-8-22 H AWAI‘I C OUNTY C ODE <br />(8) The use and occupancy, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 3 of the <br />International Building Code; <br />(9) The type of construction as defined in chapter 6 of the International Building <br />Code; <br />(10) The design occupant load(s); <br />(11) If an automatic sprinkler system is provided, whether the sprinkler system is <br />required; and <br />(12) Any special stipulations and conditions of the permit. <br />(c) Temporary certificate. <br /> Upon request by the applicant, the authority having jurisdiction may issue a <br />temporary certificate of occupancy, that authorizes occupancy of a portion of the <br />building or structure before the completion of all work covered by the permit. A <br />temporary certificate of occupancy may be issued only if the designated portion or <br />portions to be occupied may be occupied safely. The authority having jurisdiction <br />shall set a time period during which the temporary certificate of occupancy is valid. <br />An administrative fee of $200 shall be applied per section 5-7-6. <br />(d) Revocation. <br /> The authority having jurisdiction shall suspend or revoke a certificate of <br />occupancy or completion issued pursuant to the construction code: <br />(1) Wherever the certificate is issued either in error, or on the basis of incorrect <br />information supplied, or both; or <br />(2) Where it is determined that the building or structure or portion thereof is in <br />violation of the construction code or other applicable law. <br />Such suspension or revocation shall be transmitted in writing. <br />(2020, ord 20-61, sec 2.) 5-8-22 <br />Article 9. Unsafe Buildings or Structures. <br />Section 5-9-1. Unsafe buildings or structures; public nuisances. <br />Buildings or structures which are substandard, structurally unsafe, or are <br />otherwise dangerous or hazardous to human life, or which in relation to existing use <br />constitute a hazard to safety, health or public welfare by reason of inadequate <br />maintenance, dilapidation to the state of falling into decay or partial ruin, fire hazard, <br />insanitary condition, defective installation, abandonment where a vacant structure that <br />is not secured against entry, or as specified in the construction code are unsafe <br />buildings. All such unsafe buildings or structures are hereby declared to be public <br />nuisances and shall be abated by repair, rehabilitation, demolition, removal, or other <br />methods approved by the authority having jurisdiction in accordance with the procedure <br />specified in this article. <br />(2020, ord 20-61, sec 2.) 5-9-1 <br />SUPP. 9 (1-2021) <br />5-40 <br /> <br />
