P ARKS AND R ECREATION § 15-4 <br />Section 15-4. Animal or agricultural use of public land restricted. <br />The running at large, herding, driving across, or grazing of animals of any kind on <br />the public lands of an area, or the use of such lands for agricultural purposes, is <br />permitted only under a valid lease, contract, or special use permit issued by the County <br />or pursuant to law. <br />(1983 CC, c 15, art 1, sec 15-4.)15-4 <br />Section 15-5. Special rules for Kahalu‘u Park, North Kona. <br />Camping and the use of trailers or other camper units are prohibited at Kahalu‘u <br />Park. <br />(1983 CC, c 15, art 1, sec 15-5.)15-5 <br />Section 15-6. Penalty. <br />Any person convicted of violating any provision contained in this chapter shall be <br />punished by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or by imprisonment not to exceed thirty days, <br />or both, and shall be adjudged to pay all costs of the proceedings. Restrictions and Prohibitions. <br />Division 1. Park Areas. <br />Section 15-8. Parks and recreation facilities; hours of operation. <br />(a) The director, or the director’s authorized representative, may establish different <br />and specific hours of operation for any park or any portion or area of a park, via <br />posting of signage at the respective park or area. The director may also designate <br />any park or any portion or area of a park available for use via use permit or specific <br />approval only. <br />(b) All parks, including beach parks, shall be open daily at 7:00 a.m. and closed at 8:00 <br />p.m. for public access and use that is consistent with all applicable rules and <br />regulations. <br />(c) All County owned or managed cemeteries, inclusive of veterans cemeteries, shall <br />open daily at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. <br />SUPP. 14 (7-2023) <br />15-3 <br /> <br />
