Landowner: AOAO Kona Reef, Inc. <br /> TMK: (3) 7-5-018:071 <br /> Location: 75-5888 Alii Drive, Kailua-Kona, III <br /> Ms. Newlon proceeded with presentation and shared photos and additional documents <br /> provided by applicant Raymond S. Pieri. A few photos showed the location of work to <br /> be done near the shoreline. It also included a CRM existing wall and 220 feet shoreline <br /> abatement boundary line. Other photos show parts of the Kona Reef Hotel's existing rock <br /> wall, lawn, shoreline and a line that represents where the shoreline protection wall will <br /> go. A setback variance was proposed to the Planning Commission previously by <br /> applicant. After the presentation was done, applicant Ray S. Pieri wanted to make it clear <br /> that the walls will be completely subterranean and palm trees and grass will remain in <br /> place. The outside wall is the certified survey and trench digging will be done to build <br /> wall inside and fill will be placed on both sides. The applicant assures Commissioners <br /> that there will be very little erosion. <br /> Commissioner Werchick moved to accept the application as presented and Commissioner <br /> Sullenberger seconded the motion. <br /> A roll call vote was made by Ms. Newlon. A Motion to approve the application as <br /> presented was made by Commissioner Werchick and seconded by Commisoner <br /> Sullenberger. Votes were made by Commissioners Ching (Aye), Crusat(Aye), <br /> Hetherington (Aye), Ikeuchi (Aye), Kern (Aye), Smith (Aye), Sullenberger(Seconded <br /> motion) and Werchick (maker of motion) (Aye). Unanimous vote and the motion was <br /> approved. <br /> Chairman Roth—Motion is adopted. <br /> ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS <br /> The Calendar for next year was distributed by email.
