• <br />c <br />In April 2021, the County in partnership with Hawaii Community Lending, implemented the Emergency <br />Rent Assistance Program. It provides for up to 15 months of financial assitance for households who are <br />in arrears with their rent and utilities. In addition, the program funds provides for housing stability <br />services which includes services such as financial counseling, legal counseling, housing, landlord <br />incentive programs and a call center. <br />In May 2021, the U5 Department of Housing and Urban Development published PIH 2021-15 (HA), <br />announcing the funding of over 70,000 emergency housing vouchers to public housing agencies. The <br />County is scheduled to receive a total of 110 vouchers through the program. The County will implement <br />the program once all program funding requirements are met and the PHA is ready to accept referrals. <br />In June 2021, the County received funding to support the implementation of a Landlord Tenant <br />Mediation program. The program is scheduled to launch in early August 2021. <br />The Community Alliance Partners continue to meet virtually to address harriers faced by our community <br />members and to collaborate to find solutions. In addition, the federal and state homeless program <br />providers continue to expand existing programs through special CARES funding received through the <br />Emergency Solution Grant. <br />OMB Control No: 2506-0117 (exp. 09/30/20211 <br />CAPER <br />20 <br />
